NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Despite a rousing performance on "Good Morning America" of her hit single, "Womanizer," and online reports that Britney Spears had pulled out of a scheduled live performance for the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, Access Hollywood has learned that the pop star was never scheduled to perform live.

A NBC source told Access Hollywood that Britney was never due to perform at the festive holiday event. Instead Britney pre-taped an appearance for the NBC special, which takes place tonight.
