'Gossip Girl' Gets Hilary Duff

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Hilary Duff is The CW's newest "Gossip Girl."

The network confirmed to Access Hollywood on Wednesday that the singer-actress is joining the show's cast for its upcoming third season. She's set to debut in the fourth episode on October 5.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- First Chace Crawford had to convince the producers of the "Footloose" reboot that he was the right guy for the role after Zac Efron left, but he probably wasn't counting on having to impress the wife of Kevin Bacon.

Despite taking over the role that Kevin made famous in the 1984 version, Kyra Sedgwick told People she's excited for the young star's take on the iconic character.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Zac Efron turned down a role in the "Footloose" reboot in order to pursue "the unknown," but one thing the actor is certain of is how happy he is that Chace Crawford is taking over.

"I'm ecstatic for him," Zac told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson on Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards when asked about the "Gossip Girl" star taking the role he left vacant.
