LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- A host of "The Twilight Saga" stars hit the red carpet last night for the premiere of "New Moon" with one notable exception - Rachelle Lefevre.

Rachelle plays evil vampire Victoria in the second film in Stephenie Meyer's vampire series, but was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in "Eclipse," the third installment, following a scheduling conflict.

And on Monday night, Rachelle explained two things kept her away - her sick dog Honey and the recasting.

Jackson Rathbone On His 'Fantastic' 'Eclipse' Role: I'm A 'Bad Vampire'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "The Twilight Saga" star Jackson Rathbone may not have much screen time in the series' next film, "New Moon," but he'll make up for it in 2010's "Eclipse," the actor told MTV News.

The movie will feature an extensive flashback on the past of Jackson's character, Jasper Hale, who became a vampire during the Civil War.
