Now that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been fired from CW's reboot of Melrose Place, Jessica Simpson has come to her sister's defense, saying the writing staff is to blame.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Following Ashlee Simpson-Wentz's eviction from "Melrose Place," the CW show has lost at least one viewer - her sister Jessica Simpson.

"CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press," Jessica wrote on her Twitter page on Sunday night.

"I've had better days, to be quite honest," the 36-year-old actor told E! Online. "[They said it] was a network decision and obviously the ratings aren't what they need or want them to be, so they're going to try things to shake things up."
